An exhibition of Berwick photographs is now on display at The Storehouse in Berwick Barracks. “Portrait of a Town” features scenes from the 1950s to the 1970s, offering a fascinating glimpse into Berwick’s past.
In 1951, David M. Smith left his post as editor of the Berwick Advertiser and founded the Photo-News Service, capturing every newsworthy event in the area and recorded many family occasions, marking milestones in the lives of several generations of townspeople. This vast collection was purchased by Berwick Record Office in 2012.
This fascinating exhibition offers a glimpse into this vast collection. Curated by Cameron Robertson, it showcases life in Berwick and surrounding areas, offering a rich insight into life back then.
This exhibition is open Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 11am – 4pm.
