  • Archives mini conference 05/02/2021

    On Saturday 6 March 2021, from 10.00am to 12 noon, an online mini conference is being held to celebrate Berwick’s Borough Archives and the cataloguing work undertaken in the Twixt Thistle & Rose project, funded by Archives Revealed.

    “Come and join us for an introduction to Berwick’s unique Borough Archives dating from the 16th to 20th centuries.

  • Tier 4 changes 04/01/2021

    The announcement that Northumberland is now under Tier 4 restrictions means that Berwick Record Office will no longer be able to open for personal visitors until further notice.

    Northumberland Archives is holding the following series of online talks in early 2021 as part of its Covid Recovery Work supported by the National Heritage Lottery Fund. All the talks start at 7pm and are free to attend.

  • Record Office opening 02/12/2020

    Berwick Record Office will be open again for personal visits from Wednesday 6th December until Wednesday 23rd December 2020.  After Christmas and New Year it will be open again from Wednesday 6th January 2021. [UPDATE Jan 4: The introduction of Tier 4 regulations means that the Record Office will not now be able to open to visitors until further notice.]

  • Talking archives 19/11/2020

    Northumberland Archives will be running a series of free online talks via Zoom over the next couple of months.  The first one takes place on Thursday, 26th November at 7.00pm : 

    An Introduction to Northumberland Archives – by Michael Geary

    Michael is an archivist at Woodhorn and his talk will be a great introduction for people who are thinking of visiting an archive when they reopen or for regular visitors who want to know more.
