Heritage Open Days

Berwick’s Heritage Open Days are taking place from 8th to 11th September 2016.  Among the attractions are guided walks of the Greenses (Arabs and Fish Tales, Sat. 10.30am) and Ravensdowne and Quay Walls (Georgian Berwick, Fri/Sat. 2.30pm), led by Linda Bankier (booking required at the Tourist Information Centre – 01670 622155 or Berwick.tic@activenorthumberland.gov.uk). Another walk exploring Elizabethan Berwick (The Trewe Description…, Sat/Sun. 2.30pm) will be led by Catherine Kent. Altogether, 19 events have been organised in Berwick across the four days.

In Belford, the Hidden History Museum will be open from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Saturday and Sunday, with displays about the area in 1916.

At Branxton on Sunday 11th, a Flodden Battlefield walk starts opposite the parish church at 2.00pm, and in Branxton Village Hall from 11.00am to 3.30pm there will be displays, practical palaeography, and children’s activities.
