Berwick Record Office is now closed to the public until further notice, because of the current COVID-19 situation. They can still be contacted by e-mail:-
The following statement has been issued.
To help protect public and staff, the Searchroom at the Berwick Record Office in Walkergate will be closed from 20th March until further notice.
In line with government advice and the recommendations of our professional body regarding COVID-19, the public area of the archive will not be open.
We will continue to answer emails and post on social media. Please check our Twitter and FaceBook pages for updates.
As most staff will be working from home, we hope that you will understand that we can’t offer our normal range of services. Response times might be a little longer than usual and we will be unable to provide copies of documents. We are very sorry for any disruption that this may cause and thank you for your patience.
Although original documents aren’t available at the moment, please do have a look at some of our online resources:
There is also lots of information on the Friends website – www.berwickfriends.org.uk – about our records and so, have a look.
Please do stay in touch. We will still be checking e-mails – firstname.lastname@example.org – and can be contacted that way.
