  • Flodden 500 Project 30/01/2014

    Two talks about the Flodden 500 transcription and research project will be given by Linda Bankier, Berwick Archivist.  The project has examined documents relating to the Battle of Flodden from both sides of the Border, some of them never studied before, and Linda will discuss the discoveries which have emerged from them.

  • 1921 Census data 22/01/2014

    A new debate has developed among family historians about the desirability of having the 1921 UK Census data released immediately rather than waiting until 2022 as currently planned, and a petition is now open on the Government’s e-petition website to enable support for the idea to be registered.  An amendment to the 1920 Census Act would be required.
